TILA is the resource booking system for AYY's rental facilities. In case you don’t have an Aalto account, you can make a reservation request via AYY’s Services Office using this form.

Booking for 5th Aug 24 - 5th jan 25 starts 14 May

Reservation calendar for AYY's rental facilities opens on Tue 14th May at 12 noon! When the calendar has opened for the autumn season, you can make reservations for the period 5.8.2024 – 5.1.2025. 

Booking instructions

Starting 12th December 2023, private bookers pay the facility rent at the time of booking.

1. Make the reservaation via the calendar view.

2. After making the reservation, Tila directs the booker to the Paytrail payment service, where payment is made using banks' online payment buttons or debit and credit cards. Associations and external bookers still receive an invoice.

If the reservation is not paid within 15 minutes, the reservation expires and disappears from the Tila calendar. 

Associations are to choose "invoice" as the paying method.

3. Wait for the booking to be confirmed. Reservations are confirmed manually by member services at least once a week.

Unconfirmed reservations will be confirmed if the event does not violate the rules of usage, so you can wait for the reservation to be confirmed.

If you wish to cancel the event, you can do it in the Tila system 14 days before the event date, when the space rent will return to the payment method you chose. The cancellation period is 14 days, and reservations canceled later than this will not be refunded.

4. You can access the space with an access code. The code only works when the reservation has been confirmed. You need a physical key for the Craft room, Studio and van. The keys must be picked up during office opening hours that are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 12:00-15:00.

This means that the key must be collected up to two days before your reservation.



From December 8th 2023, reservations cannot be made at Tila for the same day. For example, starting at 00:00 on Tuesday, you cannot make reservations for Tuesday from 00:00 to 24:00.

After Friday 12:00, reservations cannot be made for the weekend from Friday 12:00 to Sunday 24:00.

This way we can ensure the confirmation of the reservation and the availability of the cleaning service.


Changes to the usage times and prices of Vaasankatu, Pelitila Pelimanni, Takka cabinet and van from 12 December 2023

Daytime use of the Vaasankatu cabinet is given up and the facility can be booked Sun-Thurs 10am-10pm and Fri-Sat 10am-11pm. The new rental price for extended use is 200 €.

Only one reservation per day is accepted for Pelitila Pelimann and Takkakabinett. The new opening hours are Sun-Thurs 10am-10pm and Fri-Sat 10am-11pm and the rental price is 100 €.

AYY's van is available only for 24h rent periods, starting at 12 noon and ending at 11:59 the next day. The rental price of the package for the rental period is 70 €.


Van booking:

  • Pick up the key on opening hours - if you have a reservation on 9a.m. on Friday, pick up the key on Wednesday etc.
  • We have multiple keys to the van

Important information for all bookings:

  • You can cancel your reservation for free 14 days before the event. After that, the reservation is charged in full. Delete your booking in tila or contact
  • Unused and reservations made by accident are also charged in full, if you don´t cancel them in Tila or by contacting
  • The access code only works after your reservation satus is confirmedCharges of door opening services for unconfirmed reservations will be sent to the booker.
  • Member Services confirms the reservations on office hours at least once a week. If you have an urgent request, please contact to have your request noted in time
  • The invoice will be sent to your e-mail address. After the invoice is sent, billing information can not be changed and cancellations are not possible. Send reuests concerning a different payer etc. latest 14 days before the event to
  • You can use the facility even if you have not recieved an invoice before the event
  • Once you click "Make a reservation" you have made a binding contract and will be billed accordingly
  • You must be an AYY member when making the reservation and during the time of rental in order to get the facility with a student price.
  • If you are graduating shortly, please provide another email-address to to recieve the acccess code and invoide once your Aalto email stops expires

Reform to the Terms of Use

The principles of data processing in TILA reservation system have changed. Starting 25th March 2024, the name of the group that has made a reservation, the name of the event and the group's email address will be visible to all users logged into TILA.


The groups' details will be displayed in the calendar view, by clicking on the facility reservation. This feature has been requested to facilitate communication between users. 


The change does not apply to personal reservations made by individuals. If the association has someones personal email address in its contact details, we recommend changing it to a more generic one, for example or You can update the contact address in the Group Management page of Tila or by contacting

How to make a reservation in TILA-calendar

Please read these instructions carefully before making a reservation.

All reservations are made in TILA-calendar by logging in with Aalto e-mail address and password. The reservations are always made for personal use or for an association if the person has a right to represent the association. Any misuse can lead to sanctions.

A reservation can be made by opening the calendar view and choosing the facility and date. If the facility is free, a reservation can be made by clicking the box under the date. After this the reservation information has to be filled and rental terms accepted. The reservation goes through after "add"-option is clicked. After this the reservation will be processed by AYY's services office. If you want to cancel the reservation after this, it has to be done 14 days prior (2 days prior for the van reservations) to the reservation date by deleting the reservation or informing the services office about the cancellation. An uncancelled and unused reservation will be charged according to the price list, and it's not possible to get a refund after the invoice is sent.

If you want to see and change your notification settings regarding your reservations (for example a confirmation for a confirmed reservation, a reminder of an upcoming reservation) you can make changes in your personal information page by changing your notification settings.

A code lock in rental facilities

Electronic code locks have been installed in most of AYY's rental facilities. If the reservation has been made in TILA-system, the access code can be activated when the reservation starts. If the code lock has been installed in the facility, you can find the information on our website: AYY's rental facilities

In some facilities the key still needs to be picked up from AYY's office. Also if the person who has made the reservation doesn't have access to TILA-system, the key must be picked up from our office.

Sauna facilities

Most AYY´s saunas hava an electric stove you can turn on by pressing the switch in the sauna facility.

The switch must be pressed for a few seconds until a red light above the button lights up.

The exception to this is the small side of the Rantasauna, which has a wood stove.

You can heat up the sauna during the times listed below. It is not possible to turn the heat up earlier, even if you take extra hours to the beginning of your facility reservation.

These are the times when you can heat up the sauna:

  • 15-22 Otaranta rooftop sauna, Jmeräntaipalee rooftop sauna, in Ossinsauna, Sievo Sauna and Vaasankatu sauna.
  • 15-01 Gorsu
  • 12-03 the big side of Rantasauna and OK20 sauna. Note! The maximum heating time of the sauna is 8 hours. If the sauna is set to heat at 12 o'clock, it will automatically turn off at 8 p.m. It is not possible to extend the heating time. The sauna will automatically turn off at 03:00 at the latest, regardless of the heating start time.

Paytrail Plc acts as a collecting payment service provider and is an authorized Payment Institution. Paytrail Plc will be shown as the recipient on your bank or credit card statement.
